F.A.Q. Alright, the FAQ section. Hopefully you'll find all the answers to your questions here. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where did the idea for Kitsune Jewel come from? I’m really not sure when or how it came to me. I’ve always loved any fantasy related things and foxes have always been my favorite animal so tat might have something to do with it. I actually have a lot of story ideas, but this one was by far my favorite. That’s way I started working on this one first. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why do you draw your characters that way? Actually, when I first began this project several years ago, it was going to be drawn in an anime style. I’m average at best when drawing anime and it’s a style that a lot of people use. So after a bit I started fiddling around with a style of my own. Eventually I got it down just right. My style is so much easier for me to draw and I came up with it on my own, which I like. Basically I wanted something I could call my own. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your drawings aren’t the greatest... what’s up with that? I realize I’m not the best when it comes to proportions and perspective. A big reason I decided to do this story as a web comic was to practice that. I hope to improve my drawings and art in the future. As for now you’ll just have to deal with it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why do the Backgrounds look so weird? Honestly, you should just be happy there are backgrounds. Backgrounds are definitely not my strong point and I really don’t enjoy doing them. The BGs that I do are pretty simple and look kind of rushed, but actually they take me about two hours to do all of them for each page. (Same amount of time it takes to do line art, olor and shade the characters.) And actually, I like how they look. They don’t look like any other Backgrounds I’ve seen in web comics and I’m happy. I like being original (At least, I like to think I’m being original) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What do you use to make the comic pages? I sketch them out first and scan them. After that I do everything in Paintshop Pro 6. The backgrounds and shading are done with my (cheap) tablet. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How long does it take to make a page? About 3-5 hours, depending on what’s going on. Ryu and Tatarime take me longer to color since they have more colors and are more complex than Mirru. And pages with special effects and a lot of detail in the backgrounds take more time too. The first rule is that if a Kitsune is saved or helped by another being, the Kitsune must give back equally. If a Kitsune’s life is saved by a human, the Kitsune owes that human his life. The Kitsune is bound by this debt until it is paid off. If a Kitsune were to give a small service or do a favor to another, the Kitsune would expect equal payment back. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Can I submit fanart, fanfiction, fan comics etc.? Anything you have drawn with my characters in it, please send my way. I love receiving fan stuff like that because it means people actually like what I’m doing. (And that’s a good feeling.) If you have done something and send it in, I will be sure to post it on the site. Just no pictures with adult content such as sex and things like that. I definitely won’t be posting any of that on the site. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Can I send in story ideas? Sorry, but no. The story is already all planned out and I’ve sketched many more pages than I have colored and posted. So no suggestions about future events, please. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Can I make a Fan Character? If you really want to, yes. As for them being in the story, I’m not so sure. There will be many background character designs needed but I’m not sure yet. But if you still want to make one and send it to me, I’ll post it on the site. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Can I use things from your site? No. All content on this site belongs to me so please don’t steal. (It’s illegal.) If you really want to use something, please ask me first. Depending on what you want to use and how you are going to use it, I may let you. At this point, yes. If you want to do a link exchange, e-mail me and ask. But webcomic sites only please. (I may make an exception if it’s a site about Kitsune. Sorry, but no. I’m busy with my own things and don’t have time to give out advice and such to others. Plus, I’m not really all that great myself yet. I may make an art tutorial in the future and post it on the site, but I’m not sure yet.
